An Overview of Fretting WearFretting is considered as a type of wear that occurs in the presence of a small movement between machine components. The small movement could be observed in parts that are not intended to move, and also parts where limited movement is allowed by design. Bolted joints, hollow-bore-shaft mating area, keyways, turbine blade roots, bearing races, shrink fitted and press fitted parts are examples of where unintended movement occurs. And flexible coupling, splines, cams, leaf springs are components that are allowed to have limited internal movement.
Where energy is used, energy can be savedTo meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, the world needs to reduce energy use and emissions. At ABB, we aim to keep the world turning, while saving energy every day. Read our white paper to find out how much difference improving electric motor efficiency can make.
Wind turbine gearboxes failing too soon? AWS-TF Bearings
The AWS-TF Series of bearings was designed expressly for wind turbine gearbox applications, achieving up to 7 times the life of standard bearings in hydrogen-charged environments. That means dramatically extended service intervals, increased efficiency and lower operating cost.
Simple Automation from a Single Source
SEW-EURODRIVES’s MOVI-C® modular automation system is a flexible one-software, one-hardware automation platform that combines fully integrated drive components, control electronics and automation software – all from one source. The key to the MOVI-C platform is that each of those components is designed to work together perfectly.
New Precision Torque Limiter Expedite Program
As lead times become more critical than ever amidst a longer-term trend toward shorter times to market, R+W America has launched a new rapid assembly program, allowing its most popular SK1 torque limiter model to be delivered in just a few days.
Correct mounting is critical to ensure long bearing life!
QBC / BETEX Impact Fitting Tools are designed to enable quick, safe, and precise mounting of bearings, bushings, cam wheels, and pulleys. Each tool set features impact-resistant plastic collets that are fabricated to prevent metal-to-metal contact and the resulting shaft damage, sleeves, impact hammer, and carrying case.
